Dec Fri 2022
A resolution was adopted by the seventh session of the 18th Huayuan County People's Congress Standing Committee in Central China's Hunan Province on October 10 to officially mark November 3 as the Jike Festival.

The Jike (which literally means gratitude, thanks and wishes for good fortune in the language of the Miao ethnic group) Festival was first celebrated some years ago by people at Shibadong Village, a place of the Miao ethnic group in Huayuan, on November 3 to show their unity and determination and highlight their happiness in clinching a victory against poverty under the Party's leadership.
Later, the Jike Festival became a common festival among people of all ethnic groups across Huayuan, who flock to Shibadong to convey their special affection for the Party by participating in diverse traditional celebration activities with distinctive features on November 3.

During the past decade, the Party committee and government of Huayuan have united and led people of all ethnic groups in the county to bear in mind the expectations of Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Party Central Committee, to forge ahead with a pioneering and innovative spirit, achieve high-quality and leapfrog development of economic and social affairs, and write a glorious chapter in the implementation of targeted poverty alleviation policies.
